In response to the Neyi Chetna 2.0 initiative, our college hosted a special awareness program on gender-based violence (GBV) on 20 December 2023. Dr. X. Vengo Regis, Professor of Education, delivered a captivating talk that served as a comprehensive introduction to various forms of GBV, including physical, sexual, emotional, and financial violence against both women and children. Beyond mere identification, He delved into crucial aspects like Effective avenues for reporting and seeking help: Participants gained valuable insights into available resources and legal mechanisms for addressing GBV. Strategies for eradicating GBV: The discussion explored practical steps individuals and communities can take to prevent and combat GBV at its roots. Empowering individuals to break the silence: The importance of speaking up against GBV and challenging societal norms that perpetuate it was emphasized. The talk engaging, prompting active participation from both our first-year student-teachers and the entire teaching staff. Students raised insightful questions and engaged in open dialogue, demonstrating a deepened understanding of GBV and its multifaceted impact. Overall, this program aligned perfectly with the goals of Neyi Chetna 2.0, fostering a more informed and empowered community committed to combating GBV in all its forms.
Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 is being observed from October 30 to November 5, 2023 under the theme "Say no to corruption; Commit to the Nation". The theme of this year's Vigilance Awareness Week is to promote integrity and transparency in public life and to raise awareness about the importance of combating corruption. Corruption is a major problem in India and it has a negative impact on the country's development. It undermines the rule of law, stifles economic growth, and erodes public trust. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is the apex body responsible for promoting integrity and transparency in public life and for combating corruption. Our I year student-teachers participated this anti-corruption movement, encourage our student-teachers to take the integrity pledge along with our teaching and non-teaching faculties on 30 October 2023. The Vigilance Awareness Week is an important event that can help to promote integrity and transparency in public life and to reduce corruption. By participating in the Vigilance Awareness Week, we can all play a vital role in creating a corruption-free India. Overall, 105 student-teachers were participated in this vigilance week awareness programme.
