INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY-2024

The 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21.6.2024 in our college. The Chancellor, A. Srinivasan, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, presided over the function and participated in yoga with our student teachers. During his address, he mentioned that the UN has recognized yoga as the only art form acknowledged by 177 countries. He emphasized that as Indians, we should be proud that yoga originated in India. Most of the Indians Practicing yoga daily, it helps to improve memory and health, rectify the anger, fear and emotions.

Mr.Krishnakumar, an instructor from Ariyalur Yoga Art Gallery, conducted a session during the event, teaching the students various yoga poses including Veerabhadrasana, Maharasana, Uttanpadasana, Tadasana, Trikonasana, Balasana, and Pujang Kasana. Our faculty members and our student teachers benefitted from this program.

International Yoga Day 2023

Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is the motto of International Yoga day 2023 conducted by our NSS wing of college on 21st June 2023 at 10 -11 am in our playground. Resource person Guruji. Yogaratna P. Krishnakumar from Shanthi Yogalaiya, were given the opening remarks and extended to introduction and benefits of practicing yoga in our day to day life. Instructor were given the demonstration of various yoga poses and made them practice of yoga poses. During this program the instructor has very enthusiastic about yoga to practice and very knowledgeable on it. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Our student-teachers were reported after practice which feeling more relaxed and energized. Our student-teachers were expressed that they learned new yoga poses and they would recommend yoga to others to practice for maintain good life style. Our teacher community recommends this event to anyone who is interested in learning more about yoga or who is looking for a way to relax and improve their overall health. Overall 150 student-teachers were participated and benefitted by that yoga celebration.

International Yoga Day-21st June 2022

International Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2022 as Celebrating health and wellness at our college auditorium conducted by IQAC, DSCE. Program stated with prayer song by II B.Ed. student-teachers. Health and wellness – Yoga day was presided over our honorable Chancellor Ayya Shri.A.Srinivasan. Ms. Karunya Princilla II B.Ed student-teacher welcomed the gathering. Mr. Raja Assistant Professor and Director of Physical Education, DSCE introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Dr. K. Santhakumari, Principal, DSCE felicitated the gathering by explaining the importance of practicing yoga and how to maintain our mind and body as fit for celebrating our health and wellness ever, followed by the felicitation, special talk given by resource person Dr.P.Senthilkumar, Director of Physical Education, Government Arts College, from Harur, Dharmapuri district. During that session, yoga and aasanas were clearly explained by him. Types of aasana, benefit of aasanas and how to do practicing aasanas in our daily life. What are the significance benefits we got by practicing yoga were clearly explained. During the session, yoga and aasanas like Surya namaskar, Padmaasanam, pusangasanam etc… were directly demonstrated by the resource person on stage. Student-teachers sharing their feedback and Vote of thanks were given by Punithavathi I.B.Ed Student-Teacher. 175 first and second year student teachers and Faculty members were benefitted by this program.

Yoga and health education

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self - The Bhagavad Gita Our College IQAC has virtually organized Webinar on Yoga and health education on 28.05.2021 to 29.05.2021.Mr.P.Ravikumar Yoga Instructor, Swami Vivekanandha Yoga Centre, Theni.

He instructed with his outstanding PowerPoint Presentation with demonstration . He demonstration through PowerPoint makes very clear for the Student teachers. Student teachers acquired knowledge about the Yoga to be practiced regularly.

INTERNATIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL, INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ORGANIZES “PRANAYAMA AND MUDRA FOR HEALTH”-21.06.2021

International Quality Assurance Cell organised a Pranayama and Mudra for health. The resource person was Dr.V.Vallimurugan B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed., Ph.D., M.Sc.,(Yoga) PGDIP TTC Assistant Professor, Bharathiar University Coimbatore.

The resource person clarified classs Gyan Mudra,Vayu Mudra, Agni Mudra ,Prithvi Mudra, Varun Mudra,Shunya Mudra,Surya Mudra,Prana Mudra. The program was coordinated by Mrs.V.Komail Assistant Professor, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan college of Education.

Yoga world day on June 21, 2017 has been conducted by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasna group of institution, Yoga and exercise is a healthy, rejuvenating and a joyful experience! It compiles a series of simple and complex yoga postures and breathing techniques, which help to bring about a balance in the body and mind. The program provides a multi-dimensional routine with includes Yoga postures, Breathing techniques, Yogic knowledge and Meditation, which gives the students a complete take home practice. It is a complete package for beginners as well as regular practitioners and has something for every one of all age groups.

Yoga is physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines that aim to transform body and mind. Depends on the philosophical or theological system with which it is conjugated. Techniques are controlling the body and the mind. Yoga is analysis of perception and cognition, the rising and expansion of consciousness, path to omniscience.

Dr.A. Karthick, Asst.Professor ,Annamalai University Delivered a Special lecture on 10.12.15about “Yoga and Benefit of Natural Food”. He briefly explains about the yoga and its importance to the students – Teachers, simple exercise to practice and to keep the body in healthy condition. He also emphasized on the natural food and organic foods items which keeps the body in balanced state. A sound mind in a sound body is the main motto of this programme.
