Title of the practicePlastic Free Campus The context that the required initiation of the practiceAreal education for the students is to make them a good citizen who lives, love and care for the environment, as it is basis for the life. Nowadays, plastics have become major pollutants that affect the entire ecosystem. In our campus, there was a large-scale littering of plastic articles in the past because of the huge student population. These include plastic bags, cups, chocolate wrappers and plastic sheets. Also, there was no proper waste management system for these kinds of bio-non-degradable material. Hence, the college took the initiative to solve this problem in a phased manner. Also, the campus will indeed look more beautiful and green if this is done. Objectives of the PracticeThe primary objective of the program, “Plastic–Free-Campus is to develop plastic-free-campus. It will help the students to become involved citizens who can manage and protect their own environment. It improves the responsibility of the students to build a safe environment. It creates awareness among students about the hazards of plastics. To educate the students about the good ways of managing the disposal of plastic. The PracticeThe hazards of plastic area complex one and it are one that requires cooperation from all the students and staff members of the institute. The usage of plastic articles cannot best appeal together, but there capacity is good ways minimizing their use and managing their disposal in an environment friendly manner. Title of the practicePROFICIENCY– DEVELOPMENT CRASH COURSEThe context that that required initiation of the practiceThe college provides plenty of opportunities for student teachers to understand the role of diversity and equity in teaching learning process. It also develops proficiency for working with children from diverse backgrounds by conducting campaigns for developing proficiency. The student teachers are further given special course called “proficiency – development” crash course in which they are briefed on handling of students from diverse backgrounds. With the growing awareness of the environmental issues and to prepare students in the schools to save the environment, our college has chosen environment as the theme of the year since last year. All the activities are cantered on creating awareness on environmental issues leading to the development of a right attitude in the minds of the student-teachers towards saving the environment. Portfolio Exchange Program gives an exposure to the teacher educators to be proficient in all areas. Each teacher educator gets an exposure to work in all departments. New ideas and thoughts get incorporated with the concurrence of the Principal as the portfolios change hands.
